PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Part of the commitment of CBS Solar is to provide solar for families that otherwise wouldn’t financially be able to purchase solar power for their home. Therefore, CBS Solar will donate at least one Rooftop Array (5280 Watts) to a family or individual within our main service area. The 5280-Watt roof mounted solar system will be installed at no charge to a low-income family that otherwise would not be able to afford solar power for their home. The recipient of this turnkey system will be chosen by CBS Solar from the nominations submitted by July 10th, 2026.

 

Nominee must be within our main service area: Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, and Wexford Counties to be considered for the free rooftop solar array.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

1.    Only one nomination submission per individual.

 

2.    The Nomination Form provided by CBS Solar must be completed and submitted to CBS Solar by July 10th, 2026, with copy of current electric bill.

 

3.    Qualified Nominees must own the home and have a roof structure that has a life span of 10 years or more.  The roof structure will need to be facing South or Southeast/west.

4.    CBS Solar will evaluate the home for electrical and roof structure requirements, prior to selecting a recipient from the nominations that have been received.

 

5.    CBS Solar cannot cover costs for infrastructure upgrades like roof replacement, attic/roof bracing, electrical panel replacement, meter replacement, etc.

 

6.    Once chosen, the family selected will be notified as well as the individual or family who recommended them.

 

7.    Solar Site evaluation to determine system design layout will be followed by the permit and interconnection process.

 

8.    The Solar installation will be completed in 2026 at no cost to the family or individual; except as noted above.
